1. Avoid Water and Steam for the First 24 Hours:
Your eyelash adhesive needs time to cure fully. Steer clear of water, steam, saunas, and hot baths for the first 24 hours after your eyelash extension application.
2. Gentle Cleansing is Key:
When cleansing your face, be gentle around the eye area. Use an oil-free, lash extension-friendly cleanser and a soft brush or lint-free cloth to clean your eyelashes. Avoid using cotton pads or swabs, as they can catch on the extensions.
3. Brush Your Lashes Daily:
Use a clean mascara wand or an eyelash brush to gently comb through your lashes each morning. This helps prevent tangling and keeps your lashes looking neat and uniform.
4. Be Mindful of Sleeping Positions:
Try to sleep on your back or on your side with a silk or satin pillowcase to reduce friction on your lashes. Avoid burying your face in the pillow to prevent unnecessary pressure on the extensions.
5. Say No to Oil-Based Products:
Oil-based makeup removers, cleansers, and skincare products can break down the adhesive and shorten the lifespan of your eyelash extensions. Opt for oil-free alternatives to keep your lashes in top condition.
6. No Mascara Needed, But If You Must:
Eyelash extensions are designed to eliminate the need for mascara. However, if you must use mascara, choose a water-based, extension-safe formula, and apply it only to the tips of your lashes.
7. Schedule Regular Refills:
Eyelash extensions naturally shed with your natural lashes’ growth cycle. To maintain a full, lush look, schedule regular refills every 2-3 weeks.
8. Handle with Care:
Avoid rubbing, pulling, or excessively touching your eyelashes. The more gentle you are, the longer your extensions will last.
9. Protect Your Lashes from Harsh Elements:
Shield your lashes from excessive wind, sun, and dust. If you’re going to be in harsh weather conditions, consider wearing sunglasses or using a clean spoolie brush to cover your lashes.
